Michigan Republican Party, Atty Gen Cox
Campaign Infected w/Kwame Kilpatrick Leftovers
Citizens and the MTA win important
battle in Federal Court Citizens and the MTA
won an important battle last week when a federal court ruled
in favor of Wayne County Taxpayers Association Chair Rose
Bogaert and against Michigan's laws that stifle citizen
recall efforts. The victory is obviously way, way too late.
Speaker Dillon probably survived being recalled last year
because the Secretary of State
(Terry Lynn Land) enforced Michigan's
unconstitutional laws. But this win will help citizens with
future recall campaigns now that the playing field is more
level.
Congress raises debt ceiling to
$12.4 trillion
WASHINGTON
-The Senate voted Thursday to raise the ceiling on the
government debt to $12.4 trillion, a massive increase
over the current limit and a problem that the American
Taxpayer will have to cover.
U.S.
debt: $30,000 per American
WASHINGTON (AP) — Like a ticking time bomb, the
national debt is an explosion waiting to happen.
It's expanding by about $1.4 billion a day — or
nearly $1 million a minute. What's that mean to you?
It means almost $30,000 in debt for each man, woman,
child and infant in the United States.
What was that you said
Senator Reid?
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - For months, Senate Democratic
leader Harry Reid exhorted his fellow senators to
vote yes on healthcare reform. Senator Reid offered
bribes in the way of pork for each Senator's State
with a yes vote. This is no different from the
Detroit corruption that has many elected
officials facing long prison terms.
In Christmas Eve Vote,
Senate Passes Landmark Health Care Bill
WASHINGTON (AP) - Senate Democrats passed a
landmark health care bill in a climactic
Christmas Eve vote that could define President
Barack Obama's legacy and usher in
near-universal medical coverage for the first
time in the country's history.

Health Reform Leaves
Millions Uninsured, and the Rest Must Wait
But as the U.S. Senate prepares to vote on a
health-care reform bill that would still leave
23 million people -- or nearly 8% of the U.S.
population -- uninsured, it's becoming clear
that the coverage being proposed would be far
from universal.
Cost Of Healthcare
Proposals Would Cripple States
"There is no disputing the fact that aspects of
American health care, such as access and
affordability, truly do need to be restructured
and improved. Yet, I have serious concerns about
Congress's proposed solutions to these problems.
I fear the current rush to overhaul the system
will ultimately do more damage than good and
create far more problems than it solves.

Seven More Banks
Fail, Bringing Total to 140
12/20/09
The financial crisis has claimed seven more
banks, bringing the total number of
casualties this year to 140. The FDIC took
over all seven of them: Two large banks in
California, and smaller ones in Alabama,
Florida, Georgia, Michigan and Illinois.
California is among the states most severely
impacted by the collapse of the real estate
market, which has put pressure on mortgages
written by community banks.
These bank failures subtract another $1.8
billion from the FDIC's insurance fund:
Finance Pros Predict Little Hiring in 2010
More evidence that the U.S. may be facing a
jobless recovery emerged Thursday as the
Association of Financial Professionals
reported that more than a quarter of
surveyed respondents say their companies
will continue to cut payrolls in 2010, and
only 25% expect their payroll numbers to
return to pre-recession levels by 2011.
What's even more disturbing is that 30% of
financial professionals surveyed don't ever
expect their companies to return to
pre-recessionary payroll levels.
Initial Jobless Claims Rise to
Higher-Than-Expected 480,000
On the employment front, as jobless claims
edged 7,000 higher to 480,000 -- a total
well above the 465,000 consensus estimate.
Rich
Nations Offer $3.5 Billion to Fight
Deforestation
At the contentious Copenhagen summit, six
developed nations pledge $3.5 billion to
subsidize forest preservation. The U.S.,
Australia, Britain, France, Japan and Norway
agree to fight deforestation, considered a
major cause of global warming. In a
statement, the sextet added that this move
was only the beginning, describing the fund
as "an initial investment." The U.S. pledged
$1 billion, with other nations committing to
lesser amounts.
Amid
Fledgling Recovery, Fed Stands Pat on
Interest Rates The Fed now
says the economy has "continued to pick up"
and that "deterioration in the labor market
is abating." What planet is this guy from?
Talk about being out of touch with the world
we as a people live in.
Consumer Prices Rise on Higher Energy Prices
Consumer prices rose 0.4% in November, the
U.S. Labor Department
announced Wednesday,
pushed higher by energy prices, which rose
for the sixth time in seven months.
Why the real
unemployment rate is far higher than the
official one
According to recent reports, the
unemployment rate fell from 10.2% to
10%. But is unemployment really falling?
Although it seems like toting up the
numbers should be fairly
straightforward, it turns out to be a
complicated calculation, thanks to
several inherent difficulties. The
methods used to collect and adjust the
data can skew the results dramatically.
For instance, though the headlines
announced that "only" 11,000 Americans
lost their jobs last month, other data
(both government and private) suggests
the real number was much higher.
Government-Run Health Plan STILL
Requires a Monthly Abortion Fee
Sunday, Dec 20th, 2009
Everyone enrolled in these
plans must pay a monthly abortion
premium (p. 41, lines 5-8), and
these funds will be used to pay for
the elective abortion services.
Soros
climate change activity benefits
his hedge fund investments
George Soros has funded a wide
variety of efforts to propagate
the view that Climate Change
poses perils to the planet and
that this mandates measures that
include so called clean fuels.
His efforts include his
sponsorship of think tanks, for
example, The Center for American
Progress (CAP) - easily the
nation's most powerful
think-tank - that serves as
Barack Obama's ''Brain''.
Comments:
Soros is heavily
invested in natural gas holdings
among other ''clean'' energy
sources. IMO Soros actions are
all about getting more power for
himself (obviously) to the point
where he can function as a
shadow government inside the US.
And from those Dems he finances
and is in constant contact with
he's halfway there.
Comments:
Soros gets it both ways. First
he gets stimulus money to his
front companies then gets
insider info on where money is
going so he knows which stocks
to buy. This is nothing but a
game to him to see how much
power he can wield. What he's
doing to the country is worse
than what any terrorist could
dream up. Soros is a perfect
example of what the whole
climate scam is all about.. The
good ole greenback.
For
feds, more get 6-figure
salaries: Average pay
$30,000 over private sector
The number of federal
workers earning six-figure
salaries has exploded during
the recession, according to
a USA TODAY analysis of
federal salary data. Federal
employees making salaries of
$100,000 or more jumped from
14% to 19% of civil servants
during the recession's first
18 months — and that's
before overtime pay and
bonuses are counted. Federal
workers are enjoying an
extraordinary boom time — in
pay and hiring — during a
recession that has cost 7.3
million jobs in the private
sector.
Remember when Ronald Reagan

Remember
when Ronald

president, we
also had Bob
Hope and Johnny
Cash still with
us...now we have
Obama and no
hope and no

But with
respect to
future debt;
would it not be
wise and just
for that nation
to declare in
the constitution
they are forming
that neither the
legislature, nor
the nation
itself can
validly contract
more debt, than
they may pay
within their own
age, or within
the term of 19
years.
