"CAP-AND-TRADE" THE
EVERYDAY TAX
You wanted change? Well,
hold onto your wallet here it is!
Jun 27, 2009 Cap-and-trade
legislation will be costly for consumers. It will have
adverse and lingering consequences for every American for
years to come. Reliable estimates show that this bill will
cost each American family at least $3000 or more per year!
Nuclear
rebirth could spur core industries and jobs
"Michigan has a vast pool of
engineering talent and manufacturing expertise that has
served the auto industry very well for a long time," he
said. "But with the domestic auto companies scaling
down, those skills, experience and capabilities can be
refocused on supplying components and services to the
nuclear industry. With a shortage of domestic companies
serving the nuclear industry, this presents an
opportunity for us to develop a more diversified and
stable Michigan economy."

Report Skeptical Of Global Warming
The Environmental
Protection Agency may have suppressed an internal
report that was skeptical of claims about global
warming, including whether carbon dioxide must be
strictly regulated by the federal government,
according to a series of newly disclosed e-mail
messages.
If renewable
energy is key to the nations future, where are
the jobs?
Everywhere you turn
there is talk of a shift to renewable energy, of
building wind farms and solar plants, of making
buildings more efficient, of developing biofuels.
And of billions in federal funding to help make
it all happen. This should mean a whole lot of
new energy jobs. So where are they—and how do I
get one?
Bye, Bye
to U.S. Jobs!
June 26
(Bloomberg) -- America’s biggest oil
companies will probably cope with U.S.
carbon legislation by closing fuel plants,
cutting capital spending and increasing
imports.
Mountains of Debt: America's Economic
Realities
It's bad. As
in, $11 trillion bad. That number alone
doesn't mean much, at least without
context. So here is some context. First,
that's roughly $40,000 for every man,
woman, and child in the country. Second,
our debt is projected to grow to roughly
100 percent of GDP by 2010, meaning
that, if we were to devote everything we
produce as a nation to paying down debt,
it would take us an entire year to pay
off what we owe.
Obama Care Will EXEMPT
Members of Congress!
Have
you ever noticed that there is a
tendency by the Lords like
(Harry Reid) and Ladies
like (Nancy Pelosi) of Congress
to apply certain laws and
regulations on the Sheeple (We
the People) but exempting
themselves? Wait till you hear
about the version of the Obama
plan prepared by Senator Edward
Kennedy, which would
specifically exempt Members of
Congress from many of its
provisions.
No health care? Expect a
requirement to get it
WASHINGTON (AP) — Don't have
health insurance? Don't want to
pay for it? Too bad. It's
looking like President Barack
Obama and the
Democratic-controlled Congress
are going to require you to pick
up the bill.

Undermines American Parents
This would undermine
parental rights by providing
a platform to emancipate
children from the authority
of their parents. Of
course, parents will be
expected to provide all the
needs of their children…and
all the wants of
their children. If children
want something, and the
almighty state agrees they
should have it, then the
parents will have to dance.
And if the parents feel the
need to spank or otherwise
strongly discipline an
unruly child, the parent
will quickly find that they
are a criminal.
They will quickly find that
the child, and the child’s
guardian (the state), are in
charge in the home.

Republicans Call for Sanford's Resignation
Sanford was a three-term U.S. House veteran who once cited "moral legitimacy" when he was a congressman voting for President Bill Clinton's impeachment, but he has taken a swan dive from the moral high ground. The majority of all Politicians have, and that's part of the problem!
Jim Cramer Says We Need More Stimulus
As new jobless claims rise by an unexpected 15,000 to 627,000, TheStreet.com's Jim Cramer says the figures prove that we need another stimulus plan. Jim Cramer is host of CNBC's "Mad Money" and markets commentator for TheStreet.com. Booyah to Cramer, looks like he's gone "Mad" as in the title word of his show!
Washington to California: Drop dead
With California's State government deadlocked over a $24 billion hole in its budget, the Golden State is hurtling toward financial apocalypse. California is the world’s 8th-largest economy, home to one out of every eight Americans and the holder of 55 electoral votes. California’s fiscal pain could imperil the economic recovery of the entire nation.
GOPers fret over young voters
Two prominent GOP voices on the Sunday talk shows, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Governor Tim Pawlenty (R-Minn.), issued public warnings that the party is losing ground with young people. The party elitist shouldn't be surprised, especially when the voice of the delegates and the common people of the party are not heard! They are in bigger trouble than they think! Can you say shenanigans?

A Crude Awakening
(2006)
Produced by
award-winning filmmakers Basil Gelpke and Ray McCormack, this documentary
examines the world's dependency on oil and the impending chaos that's sure to
follow when the resource is depleted. Straight from the headlines, this
hot-button topic may represent the world's most dire crisis. Through expert
interviews, the film spells out in startling detail the challenge we all face
and underscores our desperate need for alternative energy.
John Adams(2008)
NR
Paul Giamatti stars in this sweeping Emmy and Golden Globe winner for Best
Miniseries that chronicles the astonishing life of founding father John Adams:
revolutionary leader, America's first ambassador to England, the first vice
president and the second president. The iconic cast of characters includes
Abigail Adams (Laura Linney), George Washington (David Morse), Thomas Jefferson
(Stephen Dillane), Benjamin Franklin (Tom Wilkinson) and many more.
Manufacturing Consent: Noam Chomsky and the Media(1993)
NR
Funny and provocative, this 1992 documentary explores the political life and
ideas of Noam Chomsky, a world-renowned linguist, intellectual and political
activist. Chomsky illustrates how the media tacitly manipulates public opinion
to further the agendas of the powerful. A compelling examination of the
suppression of news about the U.S.-supported Indonesian invasion and subjugation
of East Timor brings home the point.
Why We Fight
(2005)
Filmed during the Iraq War, this documentary
dissects America's military machine with a keen eye to answering the question:
Why does America engage in war? Through personal stories of soldiers, government
officials, scholars, journalists and innocent victims, the film examines the
political and economic interests and ideological factors, past and present,
behind American militarism. Winner of the 2005 Sundance Grand Jury Award.

The Toledo War: The First Michigan-Ohio Rivalry
The conflict started with a
long-simmering dispute over a narrow wedge of land called the Toledo Strip.
Early maps were famously imprecise, adding to the uncertainty of the true
boundary between the states. When Ohio claimed to the mouth of the Maumee River,
land that according to the Northwest Ordinance of 1787 fell in the territory of
Michigan, the "Toledo War" began.
Liberal Fascism
What really distinguished
fascists from other mainstream movements of the time were proud, "principled" --
as they saw it -- violence and authoritarianism. Fascists took their model of
governance from their experience as soldiers and officers in World War I. They
believed that disciplined violence, military comradeship and obedience to
leaders could solve society's problems.
The Creature from Jekyll Island
The secret meeting on Jekyll
Island in Georgia at which the Federal Reserve was conceived and the birth of
the banking cartel to protect it’s members from competition was formed. The
strategy of how to convince Congress and
the public that this cartel was an
agency of the United States Government for which it is not!
In Liberty and Tyranny Mark
doesn't talk so much about Right versus Left, or Republican versus
Democrat, as he does about the free individual in contrast to the
state - which will always be as constrictive as it might be
benevolent. If you believe, as I and many conservatives and
libertarians do, that we find ourselves at a potential pivot point
in American History, Mark's book offers up a frame of reference, a
language, solid arguments and a manifesto to inform and empower a
forward path.
